The help at malfunctions

The crankshaft of the six-cylinder engine is turned for the central bolt of a belt pulley of the crankshaft. As the tool it is necessary to use a laid on key with an internal dodecahedron of SW 24 with a graggers or the lever.


The Top Dead Point (TDP) is found if the mark "O" in a flywheel appears under a basic edge on the case of a transmission (shooter).


Other marking of VMT is in the six-cylinder engine on a belt pulley or on the lower cover of a gear belt (arrow).


At position of the cylinder No. 1 in VMT big openings of the fixing plates on both flywheels of cam-shafts are turned to the center of the engine (shooter).


Facing of the engine with a working volume of 1,8 l fastens two clips (1 and 2) on the right. At the left facing in two places (3 and 4) is put on two fixing fingers


Facing of a poliklinovy belt of the six-cylinder engine is put on below two fingers (1 and 2), above it in two places (3 and 4) is screwed.

At the left: shooters showed four high-speed locks which at removal of facing of the six-cylinder engine have to be turned on 90 ° to the left.

On the right: in the six-cylinder engine the cover of a gear belt fastens two clips (arrow). To dismantle the right cover of a gear belt, it is necessary to remove in addition a tension roller of a poliklinovy belt (a big bolt with an internal hexagon).


Shooters showed fixing bolts on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders of the engine with a working volume of 1,6 l. Bolts become available only after dismantle of facing of the engine.


Here the cover of a head of the block of cylinders of the engine with a working volume of 1,8 l is dismantled. Shooters noted the provision of fixing bolts.

Too low indicators of pressure

Indicators of equally low pressure of compression yet not a reason for concern; the admissions of measurements different for different devices can be the cause of low indicators. But if at measurements on different cylinders the difference makes more than 3 bars, it is worth reflecting. It can mean the following:

  • wear of pistons and piston rings;
  • the piston rings which are densely sitting in flutes as a result of pollution;
  • cylinders of not round form as a result of jamming of pistons;
  • deposits on cores of valves or saddles of valves at the expense of products of burning and greasing;
  • the burned-down valves. In most cases not tight valves and, therefore, the lowered engine capacity are the reason of insufficient pressure of compression. Only repair of a head of the block of cylinders can help.

Search of malfunctions

For localization of defect with too low pressure of compression use reception: a manual butterdish drip a little engine oil in a nest of a spark plug and once again measure compression pressure.

  • If indicators and are lower now norms, valves not as it should be.
  • If indicators became higher, matter in piston rings and, maybe, in cylinders. The filled-in oil for a while worked as laying between the piston and walls of the cylinder so the compressed gas almost did not find a way out.

The test for loss of pressure (on tightness)

More exact results are yielded by the tightness test which some workshops can carry out. If the checked combustion chamber loses pressure, it is shown on a tester scale.

Larger place of leak can be determined by listening:

  • Hissing in an exhaust pipe testifies to leaky closed final valve.
  • The air effluence from the case of the air filter testifies to defect of the inlet valve.
  • At defective laying of a head of the block of cylinders or a crack in a head of the block of cylinders compressed air arrives through the next nest of a spark plug or from an open broad tank with cooling liquid outside.
  • The worn-out walls of cylinders directing pistons or piston rings pass pressure in a case, and it leaves an open maslozalivny branch pipe or a tube for the probe of measurement of level of oil.

Scrolling of the engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For this purpose put the car with a mechanical transmission on the fourth transfer on an equal surface.
  2. Install a curved laid on key of SW-24 on the central nut of a belt pulley of the generator in the four-cylinder engine and now turn the engine by means of a klinovo-ridge belt.
  3. In the six-cylinder engine dismantle the lower facing of a motive compartment (the head Detali of a body), establish a laid on key of SW 24 on the central bolt of a belt pulley of the crankshaft and turn it by means of a graggers or the lever.
  4. Never rotate the engine for a fixing bolt of a pulley of a gear belt of a cam-shaft at uncovered a gear belt! The gear belt can jump thus – danger of damage of the engine.

Installation of the cylinder No. 1 in the top dead point of the moment of ignition

In the four-cycle engine the piston during four working steps two times come to the top full stop (TFS): once at ignition of the let-in mix, for the second time – after emission of exhaust gases, with the admission of fuel and air mix beginning right after it. Usually during various adjusting works the position of VMT of the cylinder No. 1 is required.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Four-cylinder engine: dismantle a cover of a gear belt (it is described in this chapter above). Turn the crankshaft so that marking on a pulley of a gear belt of a cam-shaft rose opposite to the corresponding mark in a cover of a head of the block of cylinders or in a back cover of a gear belt.
  2. For best accuracy move the crankshaft a little backwards-forward so that in a viewing opening at the left in a bell of a transmission it (is remote) marking "About" on a flywheel rose opposite to edge of a viewing opening.
  3. Six-cylinder engine: dismantle on the right and at the left a cover of a gear belt (it is described in the head further).
  4. Rotate the crankshaft until big openings on the fixing plates of both pulleys of cam-shafts do not rise on inside against each other.
  5. If it is necessary, whether move a few crankshaft to and fro or turn it to yourself so that in a viewing opening of a bell of a transmission marking "About" on a flywheel rose opposite to edge of a viewing opening.

Dismantle of facing of the engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The four-cylinder engine with a working volume of 1,6 l: a big screw-driver turn on 90 ° two high-speed locks to the left. Take out from hooks and remove facing.
  2. The four-cylinder engine with a working volume of 1,8 l: weaken two fixing clips on the right on facing. Take out facing from the left hook and remove.
  3. Lift facing for back edge over valves of injection up and extend ahead from shtekerny connection.
  4. Six-cylinder engine: a big screw-driver turn on 90 ° four high-speed locks to the left.
  5. Remove facing.

The belt in the six-cylinder engine works as Poliklinova under facing at the frontal party of the engine.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle facing of the engine.
  2. Weaken fastening of two bolts with internal hexagons near a package of coils of ignition.
  3. Remove facing from both fixing bolts up.
  4. At installation put on facing fixing fingers in the beginning.

Dismantle of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The engine with a working volume of 1,6 l: remove a lock collar, remove a ventilating hose of a case.
  2. Dismantle facing of the engine as it is described above.
  3. If it is necessary, take out a cable plait from clips.
  4. Weaken fixing nuts.
  5. Remove the strengthening levels (together with arms of a wire of a high voltage).
  6. Remove a back cover of a gear belt.
  7. Lift a cover.
  8. If it is necessary, remove a maslootrazhatel.
  9. The four-cylinder engine with a working volume of 1,8 l: dismantle facing of the engine as it is described.
  10. Dismantle ignition coils (the head System of ignition).
  11. Weaken nine fixing bolts of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
  12. Lift a cover.
  13. If it is necessary, remove a maslootrazhatel.
  14. Six-cylinder engine: dismantle facing of the engine.
  15. Weaken fixing bolts.
  16. Lift a cover.
  17. If it is necessary, remove a maslootrazhatel.
  18. At installation, whenever possible, use new laying.
  19. The four-cylinder engine with a working volume of 1,6 l: do not forget the strengthening guard level under fixing nuts.
  20. The four-cylinder engine with a working volume of 1,8 l: check the accuracy of landing of laying, two-piece.
  21. Six-cylinder engine: slightly grease the internal and external parties of laying of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders with silicone greasing D 007 000 04 (from spare parts).
  22. Apply on all four edges between a sealing surface of a head of the block of cylinders and a cover of the bearing of a cam-shaft of a few Silimate AMV 174 004 01 from a warehouse of the spare parts Audi. Track that thus the opening for greasing under a cam-shaft bearing cover did not get littered.
  23. For all models: since the middle of a cover, tighten cross-wise nuts and bolts with the moment of an inhaling of 10 Nanometers.
